Roman Remains in Trier

It’s true to say that the Romans left Trier hundreds of years ago but architectural elements prove their long-term presence. With mobile apps we helped to revive the roman remains in three different projects.

2015

With Porta Nigra, the old roman city gates, 100 mobile devices with 3D reconstruction are used to guide visitors through the building. The company Dießenbacher created the 3D reconstructions which enable visitors to visualise what the buildings would have looked like in roman times. If all devices are in use on busy days, visitors can call up the information on their own smartphones via a mobile website also developed by us.

The imperial roman baths or Kaiserthermen are a further touristic highlight in Trier for which we have also developed a media guide.

Currently we are working on a third media guide for the Amphitheatre. Here, instead of having to hire devices, visitors can simply login to the WiFi and call up the information on their smartphones.
