Regional Museum Oberhavel

Illustration Museum

Closed as the Oberhavel District Museum in September 2018, the museum reopened as the Oberhavel Regional Museum in early 2020 after extensive renovation and remodelling. Visitors embark on a journey through time that takes them back several centuries through the region.

2020

We have developed a total of five interactive multimedia stations that playfully convey important events and topics of regional history.

At the terminals, visitors can learn about the history of the museum as well as greet Oberhavel celebrities.

At the Friedlieb Ferdinand Runge terminal, a timeline introduces visitors to the chemist and explorer, whose discoveries include caffeine, candles made from paraffin and synthetic colours. Visitors can try out his famous professor's blob experiment interactively.
