Überseemuseum Bremen

in 2006, we developed the media concept for the redesign of the permanent exhibition "Asia". this was followed in 2010 by the development and realisation of the exhibition "Experience what moves the world" and in 2018 we revised the entire technical inventory for the museum.

The Überseemuseum is a place of rare and valuable artefacts. With its unique atmosphere, it offers entertainment, experience and education. Visitors can experience the diversity of the whole world under one roof. In an integrated exhibition on nature, culture and trade, it presents all aspects of overseas habitats in a competent, exciting and often surprising way.

Realisation

As part of the redesign of the permanent exhibition "Asia" in 2006, we were commissioned to develop and implement a comprehensive media concept: redesign of the website, design of terminal and video stations, installation of our mobile exhibition guide xpedeo, integration of the museum databases into one system and connection of all the elements mentioned to our editorial system additor, which has been in use at the museum since 2003. We also developed the media concept and implemented the terminals for the new permanent exhibition "Experience what moves the world", which opened in October 2010.

In 2018, we were then commissioned to technically revise the entire interactive media inventory. Since May 2019, 30 new loan devices have been in use, and xpedeo is also available on visitors' smartphones.

A particular advantage for the museum: with the EVA evaluation software developed by us, employees can anonymously evaluate visitor behaviour. And in this way, they can continue to work on optimising the visitor experience. We are already thrilled!

The centrepiece of xpedeo is a central server on which all the museum's data on exhibits, exhibitions and themes is stored. This data can be easily maintained and expanded at any time by museum staff using the integrated additor editing system. A double benefit: New museum worlds are opened up to visitors and employees can publish their scientific work directly for the "end user", and at the same time for various channels: the media guide, the terminal and for the web.
