The Hebelhaus in Hausen im Wiesental is home to the local history museum of the municipality as well as a literary museum dedicated to the poet and writer Johann Peter Hebel, who spent 13 years of his childhood and early youth here.

To this day, the house remains almost unchanged with its original furniture and personal artefacts from Hebel's life.

In the Literature Museum, two of the exhibits are getting ready to show visitors young and old the house of Johann Peter Hebel in a lively dialogue. Allow me: Mr "Hookestecke" walking stick and Mrs "Original-Hebel" Locke.

The media guide concept was developed as part of a project to develop the Hebelhaus as an innovative, extracurricular learning centre. A total of three audio tours form the core of the comprehensive school programme for grades 4 to 12, supplemented by pen and paper.

Preparatory and follow-up modules for lessons frame the multimedia-supported museum visit.
